TOYS FOR TOTS

The Season of Giving is upon us and The American Association of Singapore and The American Club, along with our American sister organizations, are getting together to collect toys for the US Marines Toys for Tots program. Through the Toys for Tots program, the Marines collect donated toys and distribute them to needy children in and around Singapore. This is our way of extending an American program and tradition founded by the Marines back in 1947 to our Singapore community. 

The local, annual Toys for Tots celebration event is a cherished tradition celebrated by the American Association of Singapore, The American Club and members of our communities for many years now. This year, we are excited to have Marsh join our ranks as the official event sponsor. Thank you Marsh for your generous support!  We are also grateful to have Arpin International for their donation of collection boxes. Also big thanks to BSA Troops 07, 10 and 1010, Cub Scouts Pack 3010 and Girl Scout Troop 83 for wrapping the boxes and organizing donations.

HOW TO CONTRIBUTE

Bring NEW, UNWRAPPED toys for donation to one of the following collection points from 

November 29 to December 3. 

• International Community School
• Marsh
• Singapore American School
• Stamford American International School
• The American Club (Drop off extended to Dec 6 & will take donations from non members )
• US Embassy (Drop off extended to Dec 12)

**Please check with each of these collection points prior to drop off, as some are only accessible by students, staff or members. 

JOIN US LIVE FOR A TOYS FOR TOTS CELEBRATION

Monday, December 6 at 6pm 

Everyone who donates toys is invited to join us on December 6 at 6pm for a free virtual Toys for Tots celebration! The celebration will include fun games such as a Snowball Fight, a Scavenger Hunt, a Nailed It! Cooking Decorating Contest and more. The American Women's Association Choir will perform and there will be a special appearance by the man in the big red suit himself. We'll also share some recipes for Cocktails and Mocktails as well as Cakes-in-a-Mug, which you can make as part of the celebration. 

Nailed It! Cookie Decorating Contest & Toys for Tots Craft Bag

Order by Friday, December 3 at 5pm

Making holiday crafts and decorating cookies have long been anticipated activities for the kids at the AAS’s and TAC’s annual Toys for Tots celebrations. This year, you may purchase a craft bag that will include fun holiday craft activities and also a set of two cookies with frosting to be used for the Nailed It! Cookie Decorating Contest .  As tempting as it may be, we have to remind you not to eat the cookies until after the contest, as we can't exactly judge the crumbs!

A prize will be awarded for the cookies that Nailed it! and look the most like the ones we show. (Pssst... you can also use other things in your house to decorate your cookies.)

Each bag is $10 including delivery to your home on either Dec 5 or Dec 6. We recommend one bag for each child who wishes to take part in the cookie decorating contest. Bags are limited so make sure to purchase yours before they're gone. While some of the games can be played without the bag, others – such as the Nailed It! Cookie Decorating Contest – will require items in the bag.

Most Festive Dressed Contest

We encourage everyone to dress up in their holiday best to really set the mood for the event. There will be a prize for the Most Festive Dressed Family.

THE AMERICAN CLUB DINNER BUNDLE

The American Club is extending its special Toys for Tots Celebration Dinner Bundle offer to both members and non-members. The American Club prices for the bundles are $128.00 each for members and $138.00 each for non-members.

MEET SANTA ONLINE FROM THE NORTH POLE

The pandemic has affected us all and, unfortunately, the North Pole is not yet on the Vaccinated Travel Lane list (though we hear he has received special permission to enter on December 24)!  Fret not, we have arranged for Santa to meet with our little guests virtually during the celebration! While he’ll greet us all, 15 lucky families will get to chat with the big guy in your own private chat room on the evening of December 6. Here’s your chance to tell him if you’ve been naughty or nice and all the things on your wish list!

Simply purchase a AAS craft bag or a TAC Toys for Tots Celebration Dinner Bundle and check the box that you'd like to be entered into a Lucky Draw and be one of 15 families to meet Santa online. Good luck!
